The Aldine ISD Northside Transportation Facility will be constructed on a 62-acre site near the intersection of FM 1960 and Aldine-Westfield Rd. This new 32,000 square-foot facility is a metal building with offices, multi-purpose rooms, dispatch, 6 fully-equipped maintenance bays, a fueling station, a bus wash facility, a radio communication tower, secured access, and ultimate capacity parking for 300 buses.
The Aldine ISD Board of Trustees approved the project in September of 2016. Construction of underground storm sewer, concrete paving in the bus area, and concrete paving in the staff parking are complete. Underground sanitary piping is 95% complete. The building slab, fuel storage slab and bus wash slab have been poured. Main building steel erection, roof and wall panels are complete. HVAC ductwork and mechanical units are being installed. Culverts are being installed at driveway entrances to tie-in to existing roads. The newly installed bus wash equipment is being tested in the completed bus wash building. Interior wall framing is complete and drywall is being installed. Electrical and low voltage wall rough-in are ongoing. Window and door frames are being installed. Sidewalks are being installed and site fine grading is in progress. The project is on schedule.
